Never “Fix” Mistyped E-mail Addresses
By Carl Martens | March 14, 2008
How often do you receive an E-mail message via a web site submission form in which they mistype their E-mail address opt-in.
As tempting as it may be to fix a @comcast.nte or @aol..com, do not make any attempt to fix these addresses. If the individual left other contact information, contact them via that information and confirm that correcting the mistype and sending to their E-mail address is permissable.
E-mail addresses are private and delicate and you can be fined for abuse. Unfortunately, a mistyped E-mail doesn’t give permission to send to the correct E-mail address.
