How to Insert Images Into E-mail Messages in Five Easy Steps

By Carl Martens | March 14, 2008

You can insert images into an E-mail message in just five easy steps, this post will explain how:

  1. Within Microsoft Outlook, open a “New Mail Message”
  2. Insert the curor within the body (where you type your message) of the email message where you would like to insert the image.
  3. From the “Insert” drop down menu, select “Picture…”
  4. Within the Picture Dialogue box click on browse, find the image you would like to insert from the folders on your harddrive and select it.
  5. Enter in any Alternate Text and edit the Layout and Spacing then it OK.

A demonstration is provided below (I apologize for the poor quality…it’s my first video!) and one will also be provided in class.

Note:  If you want to insert a postcard or flyer of a listing, first create it using a program like Photoshop, InDesign, Publisher, etc. and save the file as a jpeg…when you browse for the image to insert you will locate the jpeg file and insert it into the message.
