E-mail Time Management Tip
By Carl Martens | March 18, 2008
You receive your snail mail at about the same time every day correct…why should E-mail be any different? Well…for several reasons, but this tip will still work for some.
Change the time interval of when Outlook checks for new messages. Don’t work for your E-mail, make it work for you…almost like having an assistant that works for free (especially if you take the time to setup E-mail rules).
- Click on Tools, then Options and select the Mail Delivery tab
- Select the option Check for New Messages Every, and enter a time interval into the box.
- Ten minutes is a good place to start.
- Click OK
If you’re expecting an E-mail that you know you need to respond to quickly you can always hit the Send/Receive button in order to receive any incoming E-mail rather than wait ten minutes to receive the message.
If you are managing your internet leads it is best that you keep your interval set to five minutes or less, because in this scenario…time is money.
